But what is the reason for its popularity? The answer is simple. It is a versatile grape both in the vineyard and the winery, producing unique wines. It is in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço that it reaches its full splendor, combining granitic minerality with the aromatic exuberance of tropicality. However, in recent years, the grape variety has migrated south and changed its profile.
