This wine was the star of the tasting that we participated in our visit to the Tagus region, promoted by CVRTejo for the vintage of Fernão Pires, one of the most cultivated grape varieties in Portugal. Produced by Companhia das Lezirias, this 100% Fernão Pires has a very limited production. Coming from vineyards over 40 years old with low productivity, only 400 bottles were produced in 2015. It has a 10-month passage through new French oak barrels. It is a complex wine, elegant, protagonist. Due to its terroir, it presents a salinity that differentiates it. Impossible to pass indifferently. In the following years, there was a slight increase in production and are now bottling the 2017 harvest with a prospect of just over 1,000 bottles.
